<p>A recent report from Jeff Williamson shows some very interesting trends for the Florida blueberry industry.  These numbers are from the year 2007.  Source NASS</p>

<p><strong>Here are 5 things that stood out to me.</strong></p>
<p>1.  Out of the 10 states that produce blueberries, Florida is the 5th largest.  It produces 8% of the total industry. (Michigan is #1 with 32% of market)</p>
<p>2.  Florida averaged $5.00 per lb in 2007 (49% more than any other state in the country)</p>
<p>3.  Florida produces 13% of the fresh market</p>
<p>4.  2500 acres were harvested FL in 2007</p>
<p>5.  FL Produced almost 8 million lbs of fresh blueberries.</p>
